Softball Recap: Allen Park Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Allen Park entered their tilt with Airport on Sunday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Jets. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 18 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Melody Filipiak spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Allen Park got a massive performance out of Mallory Hool, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kiley Carr, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Allen Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive games.

Allen Park's victory bumped their record up to 27-6. As for Airport, they moved to 16-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Allen Park wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-1 win against Grand Blanc on the 18th. As for Airport, they will be playing at home against Milan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
