Basketball Recap: Fort Plain Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Landon Vangorder and Dylan Keane

Fort Plain was the 60-50 winner over Canajoharie when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fort Plain Hilltoppers fell 56-45 to the Canajoharie Cougars on Friday.

Fort Plain's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dylan Keane, who posted 22 points, and Landon VanGorder, who had 16 points.

Fort Plain has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Canajoharie, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Fort Plain and Canajoharie could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Fort Plain will challenge Cobleskill-Richmondville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday down 284 places (446 vs. 162). Similarly, Canajoharie (ranked 424th) will meet Berne-Knox-Westerlo (ranked 20th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
