The Goleman Gators lost against the Columbus Explorers back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Goleman received a tough blow as they fell 24-6 to Columbus. While losing is never fun, Goleman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Columbus is ranked 15th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Edward Bandy, who rushed for 88 yards, and also caught a touchdown. Benjamin Blackburn also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Goleman's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Columbus, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Goleman will head out on the road to face off against Monsignor Pace at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Monsignor Pace is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. Columbus will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Western at 7:30 p.m. on November 24th.
