The West Scranton Invaders are taking a road trip to face off against the Scranton Prep Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Scranton will be strutting in after a victory while Scranton Prep will be coming in after a defeat.
West Scranton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Valley View on Monday as they made off with a 9-0 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Tyler Scotch made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because West Scranton is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Scotch was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julian Poniatowski, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Mason Lesh was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Scranton Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pocono Mountain East.
Scranton Prep also got a good showing from Maty Ezbiansky, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those zero earned runs gave Ezbiansky a new career-low.
At the plate, Owen Jeffers was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Eli Zapotoski, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double.
Scranton Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for West Scranton, their record now sits at 3-6.
West Scranton couldn't quite finish off Scranton Prep when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 6-4. Can the Invaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
