The Caledonia Fighting Scots won the last time they faced the Jenison Wildcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Caledonia snuck past Jenison with a 52-46 win. Given Caledonia's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Jenison is ranked 435th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Laul Abiel was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Googins, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
The win got Caledonia back to even at 9-9. As for Jenison, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Caledonia will take on Grand Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Caledonia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Jenison, they will be playing at home against West Ottawa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jenison is coming into the matchup with 15 straight losses at home, meaning West Ottawa will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
