Morgan Township's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josie Lemmons led the charge by scoring 17 points along with three steals. Lemmons is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Peyton Honchar was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Washington Township lost, one person who can't be blamed is Clair Klinger. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points.
Morgan Township pushed their record up to 16-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Washington Township, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.
Morgan Township won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Mustangs & Fillies at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
