It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the J.H. Rose Rampants had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past White Oak 21-19. The win was just what J.H. Rose needed coming off of a 35-7 defeat in their prior game.
Among those leading the charge was Jameer Roach, who gained 92 total yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, White Oak still got an impressive performance from Kahmari Brown, who rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Jamari Johnson made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
The team's defense also tried their best in the loss by holding J.H. Rose to a paltry 225 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to White Oak's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out four times before it was all said and done. Nick Johnson was especially locked on to J.H. Rose's QB and sacked him twice.
J.H. Rose's win bumped their record up to 6-6. As for White Oak, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.
J.H. Rose is on the road again on Friday and play against North Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. North Brunswick will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. White Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
