The Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Thornwell 42-9 at home. Calhoun Falls Charter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 25 points or more this season.
Autumn Thomas was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games she's played. Cornelia Rucker was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five assists and four steals.
Calhoun Falls Charter pushed their record up to 9-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Thornwell, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Calhoun Falls Charter will head out on the road to face off against Dixie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Dixie is ranked 249th, while Calhoun Falls Charter is ranked 225th). As for Thornwell, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Ninety Six at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Ninety Six focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Friday.
