P.K. Yonge and Santa Fe are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The P.K. Yonge Blue Wave will head out on the road to face off against the Santa Fe Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (P.K. Yonge has three straight victories, Santa Fe has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, P.K. Yonge earned a 51-44 win over Eastside.
Jantzen Griffin was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 17 points. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Muller, who scored 5 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe's 22-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 80-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newberry on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
P.K. Yonge's victory lifted them to 4-1 while Eastside's defeat dropped them down to 0-2.
P.K. Yonge came up short against Santa Fe in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, falling 63-54. Can P.K. Yonge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
