The Mesa Vista Trojans took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They breezed by Cimarron at home to the tune of 78-29. With Mesa Vista ahead 50-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Mesa Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tana Lopez led the charge by scoring 23 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Isabella Boies , who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 assists.
Mesa Vista's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Cimarron, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Mesa Vista will head out on the road to face off against Espanola Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cimarron, they will square off against Raton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
