The Ingalls Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Minneola Wildcats, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Ingalls took down Minneola 50-32. Given Ingalls' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Minneola is ranked 249th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ingalls got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooke Bailey out in front who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Bailey continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Elly Jo Tancayo was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Braegen Shelor and Maiya Shelor certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Shelor scored ten points along with five rebounds, while Shelor scored ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Ingalls and bumps their season record up to 11-6. As for Minneola, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ingalls will take on Pawnee Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Pawnee Heights is coming into the matchup with five straight victories on the road, meaning Ingalls will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Minneola, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Spearville. Hopefully Minneola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
