The Crothersville Tigers can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Dugger Union by a score of 42-29. The victory was just what Crothersville needed coming off of a 70-28 loss in their prior game.
Crothersville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jo jo Clay, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bella Riley, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Dugger Union lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jordyn Smith, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Smith hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Stahl, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Dugger Union smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crothersville only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Crothersville's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Dugger Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crothersville will take on Medora at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Medora is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Dugger Union, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against White River Valley at 7:30 p.m. White River Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dugger Union in Indiana (White River Valley is ranked 250th, while Dugger Union is ranked 696th).
