The Harding Presidents's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. The game between them and New Britain wasn't particularly close, with Harding falling 64-47. While losing is never fun, Harding can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while New Britain is ranked 34th).
Harding lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jamaar Wright Jr., who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antwon Dedrick, who scored six points.
Harding's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for New Britain, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harding will take on Career Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Harding focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday. As for New Britain, they will be playing at home against Enfield at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. New Britain knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Enfield likes a good challenge.
