Patton hadn't done well against Brevard recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 8-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won five games in a row.

Cole Attaway made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Attaway was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grayson Sochacki, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Wyatt Hullette also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Patton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Patton's record is now 7-4. As for Brevard, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
