Basketball Recap: Tanalian Comes Up Short

Tanalian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Non Varsity Opponent. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lynx this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-42 last Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Tanalian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Erik McGee posted eight points along with 12 boards and five steals. McGee is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. Warren Davis was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Even though they lost, Tanalian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Tanalian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Tanalian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-25 defeat against Cook Inlet Academy on the 9th. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 89-59 loss against Broome Street Academy on the 9th.
