Gresham is 1-9 against Barlow since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Gophers will host the Bruins at 5:00 p.m. Gresham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Gresham's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Sandy as they made off with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Gophers, who have now won ten games by eight runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Keira Downing's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, La Terra Foster-Frison was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Daya Nelson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Meanwhile, Barlow unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Nelson by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bruins have suffered since April 2, 2024.
Kaylee Pokorny 2025 was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Barlow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evie West 2025, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Gresham has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Barlow, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Gresham hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Barlow struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
