Norwalk has gone 7-2 against Wilton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bears will be playing at home against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. The game will give Norwalk their first taste of in-conference action this season.
Norwalk not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 14, 2024. They put the hurt on Bethel with a sharp 14-1 victory. The Bears have beaten the Wildcats the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Maddie Collins made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Norwalk let Ally Lanzarotto and Maggie Donahue run wild. Lanzarotto scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Donahue scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Audra Lacomis, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Wilton beat Westhill 7-2 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Like Norwalk, Wilton also got a great game from a two-way player: Leianna Cross. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Cross was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Roos, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Annie McMahon was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Wilton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Norwalk now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wilton, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Norwalk has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wilton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Norwalk skirted past Wilton 1-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
