Atlantic had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They steamrollered Saydel 45-6. The margin was wide but not a surprise since Atlantic is ranked far ahead of Saydel in the MaxPreps state rankings. This was the first game for both teams, giving Atlantic a 1-0 record and starting Saydel off at 0-1.
Next week, Atlantic take on Creston/Orient-Macksburg . As for Saydel, they will face of against Knoxville. Neither Saydel nor Knoxville could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one.
