Toledo had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Gervais Cougars 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Boomers have posted since March 25th.

Avery Fourier was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Lindsey Otis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run.

Toledo pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.8 runs over those games. As for Gervais, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9-1.

Toledo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gervais, they will take on Culver at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
