Basketball Game Preview: White River Valley Wildcats vs. Twin Valley Wildcats

White River Valley is 7-2 against Twin Valley since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The White River Valley Wildcats will head out to take on the Twin Valley Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. White River Valley will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

White River Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Sharon Academy 87-16. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 31 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Twin Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bellows Falls by a score of 65-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, Twin Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brayden Brown dropped a double-double on 36 points and 11 boards. That was a full 57.1% of Twin Valley's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Carson McHale was another key player, putting up five points along with eight assists, eight boards, and eight steals.

Even though they lost, Twin Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

White River Valley's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Twin Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
