Meanwhile, Chilton County fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Bibb County on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the Choctaws, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Choctaws recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Ethan Benson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Garrett Lawley was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Chilton County's record is now 1-11. As for Thorsby, the defeat was their first at home, dropping their record down to 7-3.
Chilton County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Thorsby hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. It's a different story for Chilton County, though, as they've only averaged .141. Will they be able to contain Thorsby's hitters?
