The Garces Memorial Rams fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They secured a 10-6 W over Centennial on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Garces Memorial, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
The team won by holding Centennial to a paltry 222 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Garces Memorial's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Logan Slaton and his two sacks.
Garces Memorial's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garces Memorial will take on Stockdale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stockdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Garces Memorial is ranked 136th). As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to face off against Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Frontier is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
