After flying high against the Humboldt Hawks last Tuesday, the St. Paul Central Minutemen came back down to earth. St. Paul Central was outmatched by Como Park at home and fell 68-18. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, St. Paul Central couldn't push the score so high this time.
Sasha Ickes and Kyla Parker certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Ickes scored eight points, while Parker scored seven points.
St. Paul Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Como Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Paul Central will face off against Washington Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Washington Tech is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. Como Park won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Columbia Heights at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Columbia Heights will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while Como Park is ranked 112th).
