Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Mcallen

McAllen extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Judah Rios. The McAllen Bulldogs strolled past the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Wolverines with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 63-44 thanks in part to Rios, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 17 points and five steals. He has become a key player for McAllen: the team is 22-7 when he posts at least five steals, but 1-2 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Joseph Rivas, who posted two points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in November of 2024.

McAllen has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McAllen will take on McAllen Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial, they will face off against Sharyland at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial is facing Sharyland at the right time seeing as Sharyland is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
