A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers challenge the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with South Bend Washington sitting on 19 straight victories and Warsaw on five.
South Bend Washington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 65-38 win over South Bend Riley. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 21 points or more this season.

South Bend Washington relied on the efforts of Kira Reynolds, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards, and Ryiah Wilson, who almost dropped a triple-double with 16 points, nine rebounds, and 11 steals. Reynolds is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last 32 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Monique Mitchell, who posted 16 points and three steals.
South Bend Washington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Warsaw faced Northridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Warsaw strolled past Northridge with points to spare, taking the game 71-54.
South Bend Washington better keep an eye on Joslyn Bricker. She was instrumental in Warsaw's win, going 15 of 19 on her way to 34 points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Bricker now owns an excellent 41.9% three-point shooting accuracy. Alexis Neely was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.
Warsaw's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.9 points over those games. As for South Bend Washington, their win bumped their record up to 24-1.
Saturday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: South Bend Washington has been crazy accurate this season, having made 47.4% of their shots per game. However, it's not like Warsaw struggles in that department as they've drained 52.4% of their field goals this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went South Bend Washington's way against Warsaw in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, as South Bend Washington made off with a 70-49 victory.
