Baseball Recap: Moore Has No Trouble Against Doss

There's no place like home for Moore, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Doss Dragons on Thursday. That looming 14-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Luisdel Benites was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Benites was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Isaac Northern was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Katel Dutan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Moore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Moore's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Doss, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Moore will head out on the road to square off against Jeffersontown at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Doss, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seneca at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
