There's no place like home for the Walnut Hills Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 37-35 victory from a begrudging Eaglessquad. Despite the win, that was the fewest points they have scored all season.
West Clermont lost on Monday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Paige Rodriguez, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Rodriguez scored a full 34.3% of West Clermont's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Schmidt, who scored six points along with three steals.
Walnut Hills pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for West Clermont, their defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2.
Walnut Hills will be home for the holidays to greet Winton Woods at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Winton Woods presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Walnut Hills in Ohio (Winton Woods is ranked 38th, while Walnut Hills is ranked 158th). As for West Clermont, they will head out on the road to face off against Loveland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
