The Lake Oswego Lakers will head out on the road to face off against the Gresham Gophers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lake Oswego's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
Lake Oswego's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past South Salem 15-0. The Lakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 11 runs or more this season.
Ava Beach looked comfortable as she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She also put up four walks, which were her first of the season.

On the hitting side, Sydney Perlewitz was a standout: she scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Karina Swartz also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Lake Oswego always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Gresham beat Roseburg 7-3 on Thursday.
Despina Seufalemua spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Daya Nelson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was La Terra Foster-Frison, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Lake Oswego pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Gresham, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lake Oswego has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Gresham struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lake Oswego came out on top in a nail-biter against Gresham in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, sneaking past 10-9. Do the Lakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gophers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
