Karlee McDowell made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
