Basketball Recap: Simon Hoeft's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lutheran over Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy

Lutheran lost against Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lutheran Warriors received a blow as they fell 59-40 to the Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy Sentinels. The Warriors were down 40-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Simon Hoeft, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Hoeft is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Bailey, who posted six points.

This is the second loss in a row for Lutheran and nudges their season record down to 2-12. As for Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-49 loss against Novi Christian Academy on the 3rd. As for Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-39 win against Hope Christian Academy on the 4th.
