Baseball Recap: Eunice's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Eunice entered their tilt with Lamesa on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Tornadoes. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Jose Calvillo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Isaac Morales also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Eunice pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Lamesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eunice will take on Jal at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lamesa, they will head out to take on Brownfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
