The Naugatuck Greyhounds fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Torrington Raiders on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 68-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Luca White continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Torrington, scoring 27 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. Another player making a difference was William Parkhouse, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Naugatuck's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Torrington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Naugatuck will head out on the road to challenge Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxford is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Torrington will take on Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Seymour has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 476 points over their last seven matches.
