There's no place like home for The Sabino Sabercats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 34-29 W over Mohave on Friday.
Cameron Hackworth was a one-man wrecking crew for Sabino as he rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Hackworth was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Berryhill, who picked up 87 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Sabino's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Mohave, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sabino will take on River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mohave, they will be playing at home against Safford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Safford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Mohave is ranked 29th).
