Bear Grass Charter has gone 4-0 against Hobgood Charter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bear Grass Charter Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hobgood Charter Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Bear Grass Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.
Bear Grass Charter is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Ocracoke: they outscored them in every quarter. Bear Grass Charter put the hurt on Ocracoke with a sharp 60-35 victory on Tuesday. The Bears pushed the score to 45-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dolphins had little chance of recovering from.
Callee Perry was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aubery Dotson, who went 6 for 11 en route to 12 points and eight assists.
Bear Grass Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Hobgood Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 50-42 to Columbia. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 17-10 in the first quarter.
Bear Grass Charter will have to keep a close watch on Kinsey Peel and Lilli Braddy, a pair of players who had a big impact on Hobgood Charter's prior game. Peel posted 12 points, while Braddy scored eight points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave Braddy a new career-high.
Hobgood Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Bear Grass Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bear Grass Charter hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.6 points per game. It's a different story for Hobgood Charter, though, as they've been averaging only 32 points. The only thing between Bear Grass Charter and another offensive beatdown is Hobgood Charter. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for Bear Grass Charter against Hobgood Charter in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 59-24 win.
