It was a good run, but the Choctawhatchee Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They suffered a tough 69-48 loss at the hands of Crestview. Choctawhatchee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Crestview apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Choctawhatchee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chris Pitts. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Pitts set a new season high mark in blocks with two.
It was another big night for Makhi Jones, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals for Crestview. The contest was Jones' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Josiah Klauser was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Choctawhatchee's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Crestview, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Choctawhatchee will be home for the holidays to greet Pine Forest at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Crestview will take on Williamson in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Williamson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Crestview in their respective states (Williamson is ranked 56th in Alabama, while Crestview is ranked 206th in Florida).
