The Crismon Rattlers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. Their rough 68-43 loss to Paradise Valley might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Crismon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Paradise Valley is ranked 137th).
Crismon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tobey White, who scored eight points along with six assists. Aaron Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for Antione (AJ) Anderson, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Paradise Valley. That makes it three consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Paradise Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Erik Stauffacher-Gray, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Crismon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Paradise Valley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crismon will take on Walden Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Walden Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 contests -- so hopefully Crismon likes a good challenge. As for Paradise Valley, they will be playing at home against Willow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Paradise Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
