The Westbury Green Dragons waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They really took it to Academy Charter for the full four quarters, racking up a 86-56 victory at home. Fans of Westbury have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Despite the loss, Academy Charter still got an impressive performance from Joel Beard, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Beard hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jovani Dorismond, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Westbury's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-0. As for Academy Charter, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Westbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Academy Charter will be playing at home against Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
