Baseball Recap: Russell County Sets Scoring Season-High Against Park Crossing

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Russell County). They blew past the Park Crossing Thunderbirds 21-9 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won three contests in a row.

Russell County got a massive performance out of Jayden Bennett, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Bennett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colton Armstrong, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Russell County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .718. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matches.

Russell County's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Park Crossing, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
