They were dealt a 63-27 loss at the hands of Fredericksburg Christian. Southern Maryland Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-15.
It was another big night for Layna Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals for Fredericksburg Christian. That makes it four consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least 25% of Fredericksburg Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Amari Donado, who scored 14 points.
Southern Maryland Christian Academy bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Fredericksburg Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Southern Maryland Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jemicy at 4:15 p.m. on January 18th. As for Fredericksburg Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Oakcrest at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Oakcrest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
