Softball Recap: The Villages Charter Has No Trouble Against Nature Coast Tech

After losing to Nature Coast Tech the last time they met, The Villages Charter decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Buffalo put the hurt on the Sharks with a sharp 11-4 win on Friday. The Buffalo might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Alexa Galewski was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Zoey Schutt was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs.

The Villages Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The Villages Charter's record is now 9-7. As for Nature Coast Tech, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Villages Charter will face off against Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Buffalo surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nature Coast Tech, they will square off against Fivay at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.38 runs per game on average), something the Sharks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
