Despite the defeat, Kit Carson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery Johnson went 9 of 13 on her way to 22 points along with five boards and four steals. Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stratton). They strolled past Fleming with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 54-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Stratton's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Kit Carson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
