The Fallston Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Joppatowne Mariners at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fallston has six straight wins, Joppatowne has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Fallston beats Joppatowne with 11 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Cougars were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Aberdeen on Wednesday. Considering the Cougars have won seven matchups by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Finn Rebasti and Ben Kersch made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Rebasti pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kersch tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Rebasti has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Rebasti went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Kersch went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Those three runs gave Rebasti a new career-high.
In other batting news, Fallston let Zach Loewe and Reese Conley run wild. Loewe got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Conley went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Loewe has become a key player for Fallston: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Ethan Slicher also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Joppatowne came up short against Bel Air on Wednesday, falling 19-1.
Fallston's record is now 9-5. As for Joppatowne, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Joppatowne's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fallston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Joppatowne, though, as they've only averaged .197. Will they be able to contain Fallston's hitters?
Everything went Fallston's way against Joppatowne in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Fallston made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
