Softball Recap: Pinnacle Wins Going Away Against Apollo

Pinnacle got themselves on the board against Apollo on Tuesday, but Apollo never followed suit. They blew past the Hawks 15-0. Considering the Pioneers have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pinnacle got a massive performance out of Sienna Caro, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Caro's first of the season. Bri Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Pinnacle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Apollo only posted an OBP of .143.

Pinnacle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Apollo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Pinnacle will take on O'Connor at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Apollo, they will be taking part in a tournament against Mohave at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
