Baseball Recap: Williams Field Wins Going Away Against Dobson

Williams Field won the last time they faced Dobson and things went their way on Monday too. The Williams Field Black Hawks put the hurt on the Dobson Mustangs with a sharp 9-1 win. Considering the Black Hawks have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaxon Valdez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Valdez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Jaxin Hernandez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Back at the plate, Silas Stephens and Ryan Teran did most of the damage at the plate: Stephens scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Teran went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Teran has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryder Kowalczyk, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Williams Field was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Williams Field's record is now 4-1. As for Dobson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams Field will venture away from home to square off against San Luis at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dobson, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge Apollo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Apollo will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Dobson surely won't give up without a fight.
