This season hasn't been kind to the Walther Christian Academy Broncos, who are still winless after their 13th matchup. Their2023 ended with a 56-40 loss against Elmwood Park on Saturday. Walther Christian Academy lost against Elmwood Park in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-56 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elmwood Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Angelo Bernard , who scored 17 points. Joshua Ruiz was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Walther Christian Academy's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-13. As for Elmwood Park, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walther Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Islamic Foundation at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Elmwood Park and Niles West will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Niles West knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Elmwood Park likes a good challenge.
