The Broncos walked away with a 3-1 win over Lee's Summit for which the team can thank Benne, who had 18 digs and six assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more digs the last three times she's played.
The victory didn't come easy: Lee's Summit scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18.
Meanwhile, Liberty North was able to grind out a solid win over Blue Springs on Thursday, taking the game 3-1.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22.
Lee's Summit North better focus on containing Olivia Derenzy and Kloe Russell as the pair were huge in Liberty North's win. Derenzy had 24 digs and four aces, while Russell had 11 digs and three aces. What's more, Derenzy posted five assists, the most she's had over her last six contests.
Liberty North was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.
Lee's Summit North's record now sits at 24-6. As for Liberty North, their record is now 13-15.
