Corning-Painted Post hadn't done well against Owego Free Academy recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the River Hawks 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Corning-Painted Post was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 24-26, 21-25, 25-15, 15-12.

Losseki Molingou paced Corning-Painted Post's offense, picking up 11 kills. Molingou got some help from Paisley Emmick and her 32 assists. Molingou was also a major player on defense: she and Charlise Starns shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with five each.

Corning-Painted Post's victory bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Owego Free Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
