The Cocoa Beach Minutemen will venture away from home to square off against the Palm Bay Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cocoa Beach will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Cocoa Beach barely beat Astronaut the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Minutemen put the hurt on the War Eagles with a sharp 11-5 victory on Thursday. The Minutemen not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 12th.
Connor McGrew was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kristian Wolfe, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Anthony Ceruti, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Palm Bay was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They fell 5-2 to Titusville. Pirates fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Terriers since on Monday.
Timothy Owens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Cocoa Beach pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Palm Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cocoa Beach has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Palm Bay struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Cocoa Beach took their win against Palm Bay in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Minutemen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
