Ohatchee has gone 9-1 against Wellborn recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Indians will venture away from home to take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Ohatchee's win against Weaver wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians won by a run and slipped past the Bearcats 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted against the Bearcats since February 27, 2021.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Wellborn took on Faith Christian on Friday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Lions. That 16-run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.
Sawyer Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Wellborn got a massive performance out of Jackson Clark, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Tanner Ingram was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Wellborn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Wellborn's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Ohatchee, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Ohatchee got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Wellborn by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
