Longmont is 8-2 against Silver Creek since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Longmont Trojans will look to defend their home court against the Silver Creek Raptors at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Longmont put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 69-32 win over Greeley West on the road. With that victory, Longmont brought their scoring average up to 51.1 points per game.
Longmont can attribute much of their success to Levi Scheck, who scored 17 points along with two steals, and Joey Foot, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Foot pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Gaddis, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek didn't have too much trouble with Greeley Central at home on Friday as they won 66-50. The victory was just what Silver Creek needed coming off of a 84-47 defeat in their prior game.
Longmont's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-5. As for Silver Creek, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Longmont came up short against Silver Creek when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 63-57. Can Longmont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
